Welcome

I am a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Members of our church have high moral expectations for ourselves, and continuously strive to develop our spiritual knowledge and personal relationship with our Father in Heaven and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

I'm not someone who typically likes to blare out my religious views online, but lately I've been struggling with my study of the scriptures. I struggle with setting aside a time every day to read them, and when I do, it's almost an afterthought. I don't read nearly as long and I don't remember most of what I read. That's something I want to change. Now. The best way to make sure you're paying attention and actually learning, of course, is to write down your thoughts. I haven't been a good journal keeper for years, but blogging is something I do avidly, and enjoy. What better way to improve a habit than to combine it with something you're already good at? It will also give me some accountability. I hope to have something noteworthy to write more often than once a week.

This blog will mainly be my thoughts about principles of the gospel, or impressions as I read the scriptures. I know it's unlikely that anyone but my closest family and friends will ever come across this blog, but to all others, please be kind. My thoughts are sincere and don't seek to put down anyone else or their views. Any attacks or efforts to prompt a religious debate will be deleted (I don't believe that the internet is the right forum for such discussions--it's best to find a Latter-Day Saint you know and talk about it in person).
